The Tuff-Writer pen was designed to be the toughest pen out there, period. It is built to withstand blistering cold, intense heat and any kind of harsh environment an operator is bound to encounter.

After numerous requests as well as months of blood, sweat and tears the Tuff Writer EDC Titanium Series pen is finally ready. Hand machined out of oversized 6AL4V titanium bar stock the pens are then brushed and again hand blasted to remove machine marks. Each comes with an uber_tough Pelican case which is custom fitted and engraved with Tuff-Writer logo.

The thixotropic ink in the hermetically sealed cartridge and pressurized to nearly 35 psi lasts three times longer than a standard ballpoint pen. With an estimated shelf life of 100 years, the pen writes at altitudes up to 12,500 feet where most other pens simply won't. Best of all, no matter how harsh the conditions your Tuff-Writer will work with operating temperatures from -30 to 250 degrees Fahrenheit (-35 to 120 degrees Celsius).

Designed with a sharp as well as rounded end, the Titanium Series pen can effectively be used as a take anywhere defensive implement or control device. The smoothly finished point also doubles as a PDA stylus device. The external grooves and slightly upward tipped spring steel clip allow for a smooth hand hold while not snagging during deployment or holstering. The Titanium finish is visually spectacular as well as durable. While like all other Tuff-Writers this pen is made in the U.S.A., the lack of external marking means that you'll be the only one who knows.

Unlike our other pens you just can't hide the Titanium Series pen and you wouldn't want to, it's just too stunning and can't help drawing attention to itself. This is a pen like no other, as soon as you put one in your hand you will immediately know what we mean. It is less a tool and more a work of art.... but it's still a Tuff-Writer.

There are no identifying marks, no logos and no engravings on this pen.

With stunning looks and the slightly shorter length this pen will easily fit into virtually any shirt pocket, from Armani and Gucci to your off-the-shelf 5.11s.

'Hand Made', you mean these are machined by hand?
Absolutely, the first 50 pens are manually CNC'ed. They are then sanded and blasted by hand. The new clips are also burshed by hand. Then entire pen is assembled by the boss, inspected and then boxed for shipping.

Isn't that a lot of work?
You have no idea.

Why titanium?
We asked the same question but enough customers asked for it that we started to take them seriously.

Even though titanium is much, much harder to machine its specific strength (strength to weight) is impressive and it is naturally corrosion resistant. Plus, it looks great.

Ti-6Al4V a.k.a Grade 5
After doing a little (ok, a LOT) of homework we finally settled on this specific alloy: Ti-6Al4V.

Used extensively in motorsport and in aerospace this particular flavor contains 6% of Aluminium and 4% of vanadium and is an excellent combination of resistance to loads and great resistance to corrosion.

This alloy of titanium shows a substantial strength improvement over aluminum, and is roughly twice as strong as 7075-T6 aluminum. It is also substantially harder to work and/or machine than Grade 2 titanium. Most machinists rate this material as more difficult to machine than T-316L stainless steel and recommend slow speeds and lots of lubrication. Expect to go through tooling like paper tissues.
