The Bund Strap

The Bund Strap was designed in the 1960's for the Luftwaffe (German Airforce) and was originally used on the Heuer Chronograph. Since then, this item has been adopted by other watch makers such as CWC, MWC, Bell and Ross, Omega etc.

The chief advantage of the bund strap was to prevent the metal base plate from making direct contact with the wrist. At altitude, as the cockpit got cold the watch case might be very cold or in case of fire, become extremely hot. The bund strap was designed to make the watch comfortable to wear no matter how hot or cold the atmosphere in the cockpit got.

The TAWATEC Bund strap is made of supple, and yet durable, leather. It's extremely comfortable and long lasting.
